GETTING ORGANISED BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

WEATHER
Look up the weather forecast. There is a 5 day forecast on www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day. And just remember that we are an island and the weather is part of the experience!

GETTING AROUND
Understand how the transport system works. Transport for London has a really useful website, www.tfl.gov.uk.

You will be able to pick up a tube map at any tube station but you can download one in advance, should you wish.

What I would suggest is that you print off the bus map as these are harder to come by when you're here. An Oyster Card is valid on the bus as well as the tube and it is a great way of seeing London. Also, the buses give you a chance of a sit down - not to be sniffed at!
Click on the visitor maps icon for these.

You can also get the site to plan your journey and there is a themed journey section if you want to look up how to get to historic sites, film locations or sinister sites! Click on the themed journey icon.

FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON
The Visit London website is really useful for finding out about upcoming events and other information about London, both general and specific. www.visitlondon.com.
